Youth organizations and schools will be recruited to make the seed balls.

Sponsoring organizations, under the leadership of those closest to the fire-damaged areas, will organize distribution and deployment of the seed balls to property owners.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT

The Sponsoring organizations have provided seed money to start the material acquisition.

Sponsoring organizations will seek financial support from businesses, charitable groups, and others not able to otherwise help. All donors will soon be listed on this website.

All funds will be channeled through the treasurer of the Williamson County Chapter of NPSOT (a 501c(3) non-profit organization), will be kept separate from chapter finances, and will be provided with a clear paper trail. Receipts will be provided for all incoming funds.

At the end of the project, any residual funds will be donated to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Relief Fund.

 OBJECTIVES

“When one tugs at a single thing in nature, he finds it attached to the rest of the world.”

John Muir

This project has been initiated to support those who have suffered loss of homes, lives, pets, and farm animals in areas of Central Texas recently damaged by wildfires. We will act to aid and accelerate "healing" of the natural ecosystems by providing seed balls containing native flower, grass, and other plant seeds normally found in the affected areas. All seed used will be provided by Native American Seed Company and selected and blended for its suitability for those areas. We hope to broaden involvement of the young people in our surrounding communities in this effort. Finally, we see this as an important youth education opportunity to teach younger citizens about the importance of re-establishing the correct native plants in the area's various ecosystems. We hope to complete all work by the end of this year.
